Despite good ratings, last week’s release “Ek thi Dayaan” opened poorly at the box office. The audience did not seem to be much interested in watching the movie.
Kannan Iyer’s “Ek Thi Daayan”, based on a short story by Mukul Sharma, avoids the usual set of Bollywood cliches about tanktriks and shraaps -- all that bhootiyapa, and introduces us to fear through a child’s eyes.Even thought the movie is smartly crafted and highly original in its approach, it failed to impress the audience.“The first half of the movie is really scary and quite interesting, it keeps you hooked on. But the second half is just a drag. You lose all the interest in the movie by the end of the second half” complained one of the movie goers. Looks like the climax spoiled all the fun…
