"Jab we met" ke director, Imtiaz Ali ne kuch samay pehle Zee Tv pe air kiye geye serial Rishtey ka ek episode direct kiya tha. Ye serial human relationships pe short stories feature karti thi. Inhi short stories mai, Imtiaz ki ek story thi jiska naam bhi "Highway" tha. Iss story mai ek bade ghar ke ladki ko ek gang leader kidnap karta hai aur unke ek saath rehne ka done ke dil pe kya asaar hota hai ye dikhaya geya tha. Imtiaiz ki film "Highway" isisi kahani ka detail or elobrate version hai. Yehan tak ki Imtiaz is story se itne prabhavit the, ki voc hate the ki ye unki debut film ho. Lekin kisi vejeh se ye nahi ho paya. Chalo...koi baat nahi Imtiaz...dair aaye durust aaye.
